Potable Water Projects Completed in Rural Schools
with USDA,
USAID Funding

On May 28 at a rural school in Colon Municipality, La Libertad
Department, Former Salvadoran First Lady Lourdes de Flores
and Ambassador Barclay presided over the donation of a potable
water system
that will benefit the 300 children of that school.
The event
also marked the symbolic donation of similar water systems
at 140 other schools in the departments of La Libertad,
La Paz, and San Vicente. In all, over 20,000 children will
be
served.
The U.S. government provided $1,571,429.00 for
these projects, through assistance programs of the U.S.
Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Agency for International
Development.
