Legislative Assembly recognizes USAID as
"Noble Friend of El Salvador”

In recognition of more than 25 years of extraordinary support to El Salvador's development, on January 13th the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador recognized USAID El Salvador as "Noble Amiga de El Salvador" (Noble Friend of El Salvador).

The Director of USAID in El Salvador, Mark Silverman, accepted the plaque on behalf of the US government. Mr. Silverman spoke to the deputies in the plenary session about US government assistance over the past quarter century, noting that since 1979 approximately 4 billion has been provided to El Salvador in support of democracy, economic growth, health, education and reconstruction after natural disasters.
