US Embasssy San Salvador Consul General steers visa applicants away from unscrupulous facilitators

On 4/11, Consul General Jim Herman and Deputy Consul General Virginia Hotchner entertained questions from the press and steered applicants away from unscrupulous "visa processing" facilitators who often take advantage of unwitting applicants.

The CG and DCG greeted visa applicants as they exited buses and taxis on the bustling corner near Embassy San Salvador, encouraging them to bypass hawkish facilitators who charge high prices and often coach applicants to lie and misrepresent their social and economic ties.

Embassy San Salvador now offers applicants low-fee photo services and free review of documents to insure that they are completed correctly.
