COMURES offers recognition to the United States Government

The El Salvador Municipalities Corporation (COMURES) gave
thanks for technical and financial support received from
the United States Embassy and the U.S. Agency for International
Development (USAID) during a ceremony held on Friday, June
17, at a San Salvador hotel.
U.S. Ambassador H. Douglas Barclay and USAID Mission Director
Mark Silverman received commemorative plaques for their
support to the COMURES Institutional Strengthening Project,
which
was carried out from September 24, 2001 to April 30, 2005. COMURES Legal Affairs Director and Antiguo Cuscatlan Mayor
Zoila Milagro Navas expressed her gratitude to the U.S.
government for its assistance in the implementation of
the corporation’s
five main goals: developing a regulatory framework, protecting
the environment, managing municipal public finances, promoting
local economic development and strengthening municipal commerce.
