Reconstruction Program close out

The U.S. government, through U.S. Ambassador H. Douglas
Barclay and the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID), closed the Earthquake Reconstruction Program on
July 20, in Nueva Cruzadilla de San Juan community, Jiquilisco,
Usulutan.
As part of the close out ceremony, El Salvador President
Elias Antonio Saca presented the 449 houses that were built
in the community with USAID funds.
In collaboration with NGOs and the Salvadoran Government,
USAID invested the $170 million that the U.S. Government
granted to El Salvador in the reconstruction of community
and municipal infrastructure, disaster mitigation and economic
reactivation.
