Salvadoran Fire Department Recognizes U.S. Assistance

US Ambassador Douglas Barclay received a plaque with words of thanks from the Fire Department of El Salvador for assistance given to the institution over the past 14 years.
The U. S. Government , through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and its Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), have provided training, training materials, and technical assistance in First Response to firefighters in El Salvador.
The funds have also assisted in the formation of local instructors who can train others using the USAID/OFDA training materials in the following areas: Search and rescue in collapsed structures, Incident site command, Basic forest fire course, Prevention and control of forest fires, Hazardous materials first response, Medical first response.
