USDA gives $7 million to Salvadoran “Healthy school” program

On April 20th, US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Michael Butler presided over an event to launch the “Healthy school” programs funded by the US Department of Agriculture.

USDA approved the use of $7 million for school gardens, potable water and latrines, a supplemental feeding program and kitchens/warehouses, all benefiting approximately 470,000 rural school children in nine departments.
