On August 17, Ambassador Barclay swore in 23 newly-trained Peace Corps volunteers who will work in communities in ten departments of El Salvador.
Seventeen volunteers will work in municipal development, helping their communities' local governments provide better services more efficiently and strenghtening citizen participation.
Six other volunteers are assigned to schools to teach young people life skills and organize youth groups and cultural and recreational activities. They also train teachers in English-language and computer teaching.
